It's our 7th Annual Turtle Splash event!!
RYCKMAN PARK in Melbourne Beach
Saturday, May 7, 2011
What is a Turtle Splash?
The idea is quite simple. People everywhere will adopt our cute little plastic turtles. We will hold our Turtle Splash event, and race the turtles at Ryckman Park during their Founder’s Day Celebration. They “splash” their way to the finish line. The adoptive "parents" of the winning and placing turtles win valuable prizes. The M.O.R.G.A.N. Project gains community exposure, raises lots of money, helpschildren with special needs, and everyone has FUN in the process!
What is the Founder’s Day Celebration?
Families get to spend the day together at Ryckman Park, enjoy themselves and help us to make the lives of disabled children and their families a little bit better at the same time!Includes 5K run, arts & crafts, talent show, trickster race, live music, surfing contest, fishing Contest, antique car display, food pavilion, inflatable houses, bocce ball contest, street party, food, cold drinks, and so much more!
Who will be there?
We expect between 3,000 and 5,000 participants during the event day activities.
What is The M.O.R.G.A.N. Project?
We are a 501(C)(3) nonprofit charity dedicated to providing support, resources, gently used disability equipment, and small grants to the parents of chronically ill children with physical disabilities.Much like a Make-A-Wish for the parent, we provide the tools that make their job of caring for their special-needs child a little bit easier, and enhance their quality of life at the same time.Based in Florida, we serve families nationwide, regardless of diagnosis.Visit us online at www.themorganproject.org.
How can you help?
Sponsor our event with a cash donation!Sponsor a prize with a gift card donation!Volunteer to help us “sell” turtle adoptions in your workplace, school and/or community!Volunteer to help during the event at the park! There are plenty of ways you can show your support by making a cash donation, donating your time and/or talents, donating prizes, or simply adopting some turtles!
Don’t miss your chance to be included in the 7th Annual Turtle Splash!
We would like to include you in our VOLUNTEER program! This is our major FUNdraising event of the year, and with your generous support of your time and talents we’re looking forward to this being our best year yet. This is a wonderful opportunity to volunteer in your community while helping our organization to continue our Quality-of-Life Support Programs for chronically ill children with special-needs!
This is an excellent opportunity for families looking to have FUN while they are serving in the community, for school/scouts/youth groups looking to have FUN while earning community service/learning hours requirements!

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are very happy to be entering our 10th year of this organization, named in honor of our beautiful little boy,
Morgan. In the past 13+ years of caring for our son, we have come to appreciate all of the difficulties involved in caring for a special-needs child in the family home. It is our hope that through this project, we can help other family caregivers to be able to better care for their own kids with special needs, by providing resources, gently used disability equipment, and small grants. We have been extremely fortunate to have found a wonderful PMD (Pelizeaus-Merzbacher Disease) support group, and many exceptional parents of special-needs children to share our experiences with. We also recognize that not all family caregivers of children with special needs have been as fortunate as we have been, and this is our opportunity to help others.

The M.O.R.G.A.N. Project
has been created with love BY parents of a child with special needs, FOR parents of children with special needs.

UPDATE!!

We are pleased to announce the creation of "Morgan's Place", located at 411 Ocean Avenue in Melbourne Beach, Florida.  Anticipated opening in October 2011, this one-of-a-kind center will be home to our current Quality-of-life Support programs, as well as our BRAND NEW, state-of-the-art, 100% all-interactive "Snoezelen" Multi-Sensory Environment!
